Get Me To The Church

I've had friends ask me to shoot their weddings before and I always say yes and have a great time doing it. Because I have a personal connection with them I get to do things that I normally wouldn't get to do. When I was asked by my friend Jason and his fiancee to shoot their wedding and some pre taped pieces for their reception I don't think I could have said yes fast enough. See, when we were in high school, Jason was part of some comedy sketches that jump started this video making journey that I've been on for the last 12 + years. So doing this wedding has pretty much brought things full circle. For old times sake we decided to shoot comedy piece. Jason really wanted to in some way incorporate the song "Get Me To The Church On Time" by Frank Sinatra. I pitched him an idea I had for it and he really dug it. We shot it one afternoon and had a blast. One thing you should know about him is that he's game for ANYTHING. Including a fully clothed shower. Check out the video and you'll see what I mean.

Filming To The Beat

Music is huge with me. I love listening to it and I love being around people who make it. One musician who I've admired for a very long time (just about my entire life) is my cousin Isaac Sanchez. He's an incredibly talented drummer. In my mind there's not one better. Not too long ago he asked if I would partner up with him in creating some content for his website. One thing he really wanted to do was get some drumming tutorials up on the site. We shot a few short tutorials but the one that I enjoyed making the most was the "Preparing For A High Profile Gig" video. I was able to shadow Isaac as he prepared and played at Eastside Christian Church in Anaheim, CA. It ended up being a very informative and fun video. All you drummers out there check out this video and a bunch of other helpful content at isaac-sanchez.com

RevueLabs

We had a chance to work with the fine folks at RevueLabs.com recently. They are just about to launch their crowd funding campaign on indiegogo.com and asked me to come on board to do the video. I thought it would be fun to play on the whole "labs" thing and we got those guys in white coats. It was incredibly fun! It felt more like a really great hang out than actual work. It's an odd thing, when work doesn't feel like work I tend to be happier with the quality of the end product.

Radioactive

I have two kids. My sister has two kids. When our kids get together its pure mayhem. I tried to capture a little bit of their energy one day by taking them on a hike and shooting video of it. If you're part of our family it's easy to see each of their personalities show up on screen. This will no doubt be something cool for them to see when they're adults.

251 Days

I'm not even going to pretend I know what I'm talking about when it comes to cancer, or the effects it has on an individual or a family. All I know is that after a long grueling fight with it, to have the opportunity to announce to your family and friends that you are now cancer free is something very special. So this video is how Rebecca announced to the world that she is now cancer free.
