Bansari & Ronak. . . and 112

South Asian weddings have become some of my favorite events to shoot. The colors, music and traditions are exciting to capture. A significant amount of the pre and post ceremony events include musical numbers and dances which keeps us on our toes as we don't always know what the choreography entails. It really is exciting to capture. In the case of Bansari & Ronak's reception the entire wedding party along with family and friends organized a flash mob dancing to a track by R&B group 112. What was even more exciting is that the flash mob transitioned into a surprise performance by 112 themselves. The ceremony and reception were exceptionally beautiful and the end of the night served as a perfect example of needing to be ready for ANYTHING.

We Are Heat Press Nation

This is it. This is the reason for so many lengthy gaps of time between blog posts. The company I've worked for full time for the last 6 years: Heat Press Nation. It's hard to believe that when I started in 2012 there were only 3 employees (I was the third hire) and today the company is 24 employees strong. I went from customer service representative to website & social media manager. If you work a 9-5 you know the importance of a good work environment and in my entire work experience this has been the best. I'm extremely lucky to have worked for such a respectable company and proud of the work we've done together.

Live From Anaheim...

I've been doing video production since 2001 when I picked up a Hi8 camcorder and started shooting comedy sketches with my high school classmates. But it wasn't until a few years ago when I joined the Creative Arts Team at Eastside Christian Church in Anaheim that I experienced the rush that is directing live video. I joined the team in 2014 as a camera operator and was lucky enough to be assistant director for the Christmas shows that year. Christmas is by far Eastside's busiest time of year. In 2015 I was lucky enough to direct 10 shows and this year 11 show. 11 shows in 7 days is a lot of work. But by the end of the run, the fulfillment of the hard work trumps any exhaustion. Not to mention working along side some of the most talented and creative people is an incredible joy. Here is the opening "Carols" segment from this year's show.

Everly's First Year

Being a parent is a crazy experience. From the moment you find out you'll be one, your mind begins to fill up with hopes, dreams and expectations. You begin to prepare for the little one's arrive but then in a blink of an eye, there they are. And what seems to fly by just as quick is baby's first year. When my friends Cesar and Patty welcomed their second child Everly into this world, I thought it be cool to capture a little bit of that exciting first year. I would drop in every month or so and grab some footage of Everly. It was such a pleasure getting to spend time them and see her grow in that first year. Cesar, Patty and their two kids are such special people and I was honored to be invited into their home.

Anaheim's Very Own

I live and grew up in Anaheim, California. I very much enjoy the city. We have great people, great sports, entertaining things to do and also great music. That great music includes a very Anaheim band called OKT. If you haven't heard of them or heard their music check out their album "Better Late Than Never" on Spotify and iTunes. You will not be disappointed! Their sound is a mixture of rock and reggae but I had a chance to hang out with them and found that they are not limited to any single genre. We got to shoot one of their performances at the World Famous Doll Hut (which, by the way, has seen many of OC's greatest bands come through. Everyone from Social Distortion to The Offspring to Sublime to No Doubt.) OKT is a group of talented guys having fun and making great music in the process.

Oh, and just a heads up there is some adult language and mature content in this one so, viewer discretion is advised.
